A Message From the United States Air Consolidators Association

Dear Fellow Travel Industry Professional:

First, let me congratulate Moffit’s Consolidators Guide on the publication of this new edition.

At a time when Travel Agents are fighting for survival against forces much stronger than the normal capacity of a small company, Moffit’s brings them vital information that, if used correctly, increases their chances of actually winning. Enumerating the negative factors that hit the travel industry in the past few years is just plain painful and unnecessary – for we all go through them in our daily analysis. But one cannot forget the terrible impact of the commission cuts imposed by the airlines, making it almost impossible for Travel Agents to participate in this 70 billion plus market.

A great percentage has quit, or is in the process of quitting, participation in air ticket sales.

Those more aggressive, and better informed, are thriving in air sales by just readjusting their supply chain from airlines on their CRS to Consolidators on their CRS or the Web!
The problem is: What’s a Consolidator? How can I trust my supplier? Moffit’s Consolidators Guide is one of the best (very few) answer books for these questions. By having followed from a very close distance the development of the United States Air Consolidators Association, they have identified a group of reliable “true” Consolidators who, amongst themselves, transact close to 10% of all international air tickets in the USA, validated by more than 80 domestic and international airlines.
USACA requires stringent qualifications from its members, constantly works with the major airlines functioning as an “Advisory Board” and has recently started a cooperation program with ASTA in order to increase Consolidator awareness to ASTA members.
By creating a special section in this book to clearly identify the members of USACA, Moffit’s makes it easy for willing Travel Agents to realign their buying programs, reinsert themselves in the sale of airline tickets and increase their profits to levels actually higher than the old commission basis.

We want to thank Moffit’s for their educational work in the field of Consolidation and for helping to bring Integrity, Leadership and Reliability to consolidated air tickets sales in the USA.

Sincerely,

Fernando S. Virgolino
President, US Air Consolidators Association
